Balraj Khara’s journey into professional boxing has been one of resilience, discipline, and determination against the odds. A proud British-Indian fighter from Feltham, London, Balraj grew up balancing his South Asian heritage with a love for sport, discipline, and hard work.
Born with a hearing impairment, life threw challenges at Balraj from the very beginning. While many saw it as a limitation, Balraj learned to embrace it as a unique strength. In the ring, the roar of the crowd fades away, leaving only his opponent, his coach’s instructions, and the sound of the bell.
His path into boxing wasn’t straightforward. Before stepping into the squared circle, Balraj explored karate, football, and kickboxing, but it was boxing that captured his spirit. At the age of 21, he entered his first amateur bout—a fight he won—and quickly realized he had found his calling. Over the next few years, he competed in more than 30 amateur contests, securing victories at the London Class B Novices and representing London internationally.

In 2022, Balraj turned professional, making his debut at the iconic York Hall in Bethnal Green. With a relentless work ethic and sharp technical skills, he began carving out his reputation in the light-heavyweight division. Along the way, he has faced setbacks, including tough losses and hard-fought draws, but true to his character, he always rises stronger.
Balraj’s story is not just about boxing—it’s about representation, perseverance, and inspiring others. As one of the few South Asian boxers competing at a professional level in Britain, he proudly carries his community’s hopes with him into every fight. Beyond the sport, he uses his platform to speak openly about living with a hearing impairment, showing the next generation that no obstacle is too great to overcome.
